Artesia Punisher pitcher and outfielder, Monica Navarrete and her 12U team went undefeated for the first two days of the State Championships held in Hemet, California during the Memorial Day weekend.  Despite losing two games on the final day, the Punishers qualified for Nationals and will be traveling to Bloomington, Indiana in August.

Artesia Punisher pitcher and outfielder, Monica Navarrete and her 12U team have won all but one tournament this season.  The most recent wins were the USSSA Swing for Summer Tournament and the USSSA 14U Spring Fling.  Best of luck to the girls as they prepare for the State Championships in Hemet, California.

Congratulations to Erika Davis, a senior at California High School in Whittier and a member of Protege Volleyball Club's 18s Elite Team.  She will be headed to Missouri this fall to play volleyball at Hannibal-LaGrange, a Division I NAIA school and a member of the American Midwest Conference.

Congratulations to Jasmine McGill and her Long Beach Junior Crew Women's Lightweight Eight teammates for taking second in the 2000 meters at the San Diego Crew Classic. Not only was this the largest all-eights regatta in the nation, with more than 3,400 athletes, but the LBJC boat lost by only six seconds to Los Gatos, last year's National Champions.

Congratulations to Emily Atwood, a senior at Whittier Christian and a member of Protege Volleyball Club's 18s Elite Team, who will be headed to New York this fall to play volleyball at Fordham University, a Division I NCAA school and a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

February 2010

Mei Ling placed first in the 200 IM and 100 Breast and third in the 100 Fly.  Her first place finish in the 200 IM broke the meet record set in 2007.  Mei Ling now holds the SCS All-Star Swim Festival Meet record for the 200 IM.  She was also part of the 200 Freestyle Relay that broke the SCS All-Star Swim Festival Meet record set in 2007.  Mei Ling did a personal best in both record setting events.

The Trident girls earned three 8th place finishes and one 12th place finish in the relays, while Meiling Chun finished second in the 100 IM behind the National Record Holder Ella Eastin.  Chun also won bronze in the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke.  Congratulations Tridents!

November 2009

Congratulations to senior libero, Emily Atwood for another great volleyball season.  For the second straight year, Emily was selected to the 2nd team All-CIF and 1st team All-Area.  She also received the All-Tournament Player award at the Arcadia Tournament

Congratulations to the Whittier Christian High School Girls Volleyball team for another great season. The girls went undefeated in league play, won each CIF playoff and championship game in three straight, and advanced to the second round in the State Tournament.

October 2009

Congratulations to sophomore libero, Ashley Hunter for being named to the 2009 Mayfair High School Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team.  This marks Ashley's second All-Tournament Team selection of the season.

August 2009

Mark Reinis and Nick Trojan finished 25th at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France.  The pair now set their sights on London in 2012.

July 2009

Mark Reinis and Nick Trojan of Long Beach Junior Crew swept the best two-out-of-three finals of the junior men's double sculls at the 2009 Junior World Championships Trials on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.  They will represent the United States next month at the World Rowing Junior Championships in France.

Congratulations to the Long Beach Junior Crew Varsity Boys Team for winning silver and bronze medals at the 2009 US Rowing Youth National Championships held on June 12th-14th at Harsha Lake in Cincinnati, Ohio.
